SaMASZ celebrates its 40th jubilee

19.03.2024

The Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities took honorary patronage over celebrations of the SaMASZ Sp z o.o. 40th anniversary.
We would like to congratulate the company on this so important jubilee and wish it further professional successes. We are pleased to observe and support development of this company, which has been our member since 2010.

By creating machines with passion for their development SaMASZ can go beyond successive borders. This has been happening for 40 years, during which reputation of its products marked “Made in Poland” has steadily grown all over the world. Currently, they are delivered to over 70 countries via dealer networks and importers (SaMASZ North America, SaMASZ BVBA, or SaMASZ UK). There they work at smaller farms, as well as at the largest agricultural companies, where they are perceived as machines from premium class.

February 2024 was a special time for SaMASZ. 40 years ago engineer Antoni Stolarski started his business activities. He began in a proverbial garage, and today he manages a company manufacturing machines for green fodder harvesting and municipal services delivered to nearly all continents.

Industry 4.0 factory

The modern SaMASZ production plant in Zabłudów near Białystok, with halls of a surface area of 4 ha and employing over 800 people, is continuously enlarged and transformed into the Industry 4.0 factory. Why? It is necessary, due to an increase in the level of orders from markets all over the world. Increasingly modern factory can manufacture better SaMASZ machines, which successfully compete with their equivalents offered by the largest European and global manufacturers.

‘We are currently undergoing digital transformation and implement the concept of Industry 4.0, being its part. Main pillars of these activities cover people, processes, and technologies. Industry 4.0 enables the company to improve its productivity and thus achieve a competitive edge in the market’, explains Leszek Szulc, Technical and Production Director at SaMASZ.

Polish technical thought

President Antoni Stolarski is particularly proud of results of works conducted by the SaMASZ Research and Development Centre. This is not surprising, because engineer Antoni Stolarski is also a designer, and at the beginning of SaMASZ operations he designed machines himself.

82 people, including 40 designers, work at the SaMASZ Research and Development Centre. They improve the existing designs, and design and construct prototypes of new machines. Currently, there are over 30 projects of this kind in progress. ‘They include works on a system for real-time monitoring of quantity of harvested yield, a system for geolocation mapping of fields with information on the yield, a system monitoring machine operating parameters, and an autodiagnostic system informing about wearing wearable parts’, lists Sławomir Dobrzański, a Director of the SaMASZ Research and Development Centre.

Entering new decade with new colours

We planned activities aiming at distinguishing SaMASZ against its competition. A careful combination of shades of traditional SaMASZ green and matt black reflects the extensive works on new products. The change of the additional colour from light-grey to black emphasises innovativeness and technological advancement, as well as quality of new products. We also added red accents, as a warning to observe caution during operation. These changes distinguish our brand in the Agro sector.

How will it look like? Development of the factory focusing on Industry 4.0 is possible due to an increasingly greater use of artificial intelligence, data analysis, calculation cloud, the Internet of Things, and process automation. Combination of these opportunities with long-term experience of SaMASZ employees allows farmers to await successive modern versions of machines with trust. Probably these solutions will be as interesting as a recently produced line of rear mowers KDD 911 STH ISOBUS. It brought SaMASZ into the global champions league of usable electronic solutions for agricultural machines. This was possible due to AEF ISOBUS certification. With this control system, the mowers’ running and operation can be controlled from a tractor terminal consistent with the ISOBUS standard.

‘SaMASZ is the only Polish company belonging to AEF and VDMA associations. Our membership in structures of those industrial organisations allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of changes occurring in the agricultural technology’, emphasises Karol Wdziękoński, SaMASZ Sales and Marketing Director.

SaMASZ, the Polish family company, is constantly developing, and with its multi-million investments and dedicated employees it achieved the level of the global class manufacturer. Today, SaMASZ machines work on meadows all over the world, where they not only facilitate work for farmers, but also allow them to obtain high quality fodder. These are products from the premium class, “Made in Poland”.
