Preparations for EuroSkills 2023 in Gdańsk are underway Last week, a few-day organizational meeting of the EuroSkills 2023 competition took place in Gdańsk. The Chamber, as the main partner of the competition of agricultural and construction vehicle mechanics, also took part in it. EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is the eighth edition of the biennial EuroSkills competition – Europe’s largest event related to vocational education and skills improvement. Held every two years and organized by WorldSkills Europe with its 32 member countries, EuroSkills brings together hundreds of young professionals from across Europe who compete for the chance to become the best in Europe in their chosen skill. EuroSkills Gdansk 2023 will welcome 600 qualified young professionals under the age of 25 from 32 countries to take part in competitions and demonstrations in 43 different skills and occupations. About 100,000 participants of the event from all over Poland and abroad are expected. 

However, in order for the event to take place, a lot of organizational work must be put into it. One of the elements of last week’s workshop was a meeting of experts from individual competitions with partners who support their organization. Representatives of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Agricultural Machines and Facilities, as the main partner of the agricultural and construction vehicle mechanic competition, also took part in such a working meeting. Logistical and technical issues were settled, outlines of tasks were discussed and machines and devices that would be necessary to conduct the competition were predetermined. An online meeting with representatives of brands that will be involved in this project will be held soon. 

The Polish Chamber of Commerce of Agricultural Machines and Facilities has been a partner of the WorldSkills and EuroSkills events for several years. The industry competitions Young Mechanic for a Medal and Student for a Medal organized by the Chamber are pre-qualifiers for international competitions. Their winners later have a chance to compete with their peers from other European countries and the world.
